With Superintendent Giaimo On His Way Out, TTPD Is Hiring A New Leader​

Qualified candidates should apply by noon, April 28.

As Tredyffrin Township Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo exits the department he's served for nearly 30 years, the department needs to hire his replacement and applications are being accepted through late April.

The police superintendent is appointed by, and works under the direction of, a seven-member Board of Supervisors, works with the township manager, and plans, organizes, supervises all functions of the police department to include patrol, investigations, and administration, the township said.

Ideal Candidates must be community-focused and have the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to maintain and advance the department’s standing as a progressive, professional, and innovative police agency.

At least a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, and have a demonstrated executive potential with at least fifteen years of law enforcement experience, including five years of experience in a command position, is required to be considered for the superintendent position.

Candidates must be certified by MPOETC and possess a current Act 120 certification, or be capable of becoming certified.

The salary range is $120,00 to $145,000 with a benefit package.

The exact salary is contingent on qualifications and work experience, the township said.

Giaimo announced his retirement in late January and thanked the Tredyffrin community for the support he received over 27 years of serving the community.
