Tredyffrin House Fire Causes $525K In Damage
One firefighter was injured battling the Monday afternoon blaze in the Wayne section of town.

WAYNE, PA – A fire tore through a Tredyffrin Township home Monday afternoon, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, according to the Berwyn Fire Company.
The fire company said the fire broke out at about 2 p.m. on Monday, May 15 at a home on the 200 block of Walker Road in Wayne.
Berwyn Fire Company crews responded and tackled the exterior fire that was heading into the home's roof and attic, the fire company said.

Responders then determined the house was vacant due to ongoing renovations after being sold recently, the fire company said.

In about 30 minutes crews knocked the fire down but had to check inside walls and ceilings for pockets of fire, the fire company said.

One firefighter suffered minor burns to the head while responding to the blaze, the officials said. No civilians were injured.
The Chester Fire County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of the fire and determined it to be accidental in nature.
The total building loss is estimated at $525,000, the fire company said.
Other responding agencies included Radnor Fire Company, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, Goshen Fire Company, Lionville Fire Company, Kimberton Fire Company, and Jefferson Fire Company, as well as the Tredyffrin Police Department.
