Tredyffrin Library Holds College Application Essay Class

TREDYFFRIN, PA -- The Tredyffrin Public Library will host local writing coach and teacher, Dr. Marylyn E. Calabrese, for a four-day class that will help students write successful college application essays, they announced in a news release Friday.

During this class students will receive individualized written feedback from Dr. Calabrese. She is the former chairperson of the Conestoga High School English Department.

Her educational background includes an A.B. from Bryn Mawr College, and a Ph.D. in Teaching Writing from the University of Pennsylvania.

As college admission becomes increasingly competitive, the college essay is one important area in which students can differentiate themselves. Through their essays, students can communicate their passions, advance their application strategies and stand out in a crowd.

The class will take place from 9-12 on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, specific dates to be determined. The cost is $200 with all proceeds going to the Tredyffrin Library. Space will be limited so that students can have personalized feedback on their drafts.
