• Dime Bank opening new branch office in Throop (thetimes-tribune.com) — A new Dime Bank branch is set to open later this year at 224 Dunmore Street in Throop, replacing the former PNC location and restoring the borough's only in-town bank. The full-service office will offer retail and commercial banking, employ five to six people, and aims to better serve customers between Scranton and Carbondale.
