Pine Creek Rail Trail named Pennsylvania's 2026 Trail of the Year (lockhaven.com) — Tioga County's Pine Creek Rail Trail has been named Pennsylvania's 2026 Trail of the Year, spotlighting a 65‑mile route that now links directly into downtown Wellsboro. State and local partners recently finished the Marsh Creek Greenway extension, adding a new trailhead, visitor amenities, and a safer connector that's expected to boost outdoor recreation and tourism across the county.
   

4. Boom counsel waives preliminary hearing, case proceeds to Court of Common Pleas (tiogapublishing.com) — A Tioga County homicide case involving Wellsboro resident Kenneth Jerome Boom is moving directly to the Court of Common Pleas after his attorneys waived a preliminary hearing in a packed courthouse. Boom remains jailed without bail on multiple charges related to the July 31 shooting death of his wife, which he reported to 911 and which investigators say was preceded by alleged threats.
