Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce Announces Borough Ball "Service to Community" Award Winners

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce will honor its "Service to Community" award winners at the biennial Borough Ball which will be held on Saturday February 23, 2013 at the Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland, PA.

"Our award winners will be honored for distinguished service rendered to the Borough of Hatboro characterized by unselfish devotion to the welfare of others," says Borough Ball Awards Committee Chairman Robert M. John, Esq.

The "Service to Community" award will be given to Lynwood Matthews, whose service has enhanced the quality of life in the borough as a board member of the Hatboro area YMCA, past president and current secretary of the Horsham Rotary, as well as other community organizations. The "Service to Youth" award recognizes an individual who has given service which has positively affected the character development of youth in the borough, and will be presented to Hatboro Area Branch YMCA Program Director Darlene Malone. The "Service to Public" award will be presented to Hatboro's Main Street Manager Stephen T. Barth, who as a public servant (employee of the borough, or person acting on behalf of the people or government of the borough) has given service enhancing the quality of public services. For "Service in Business," the award will be given to Jarrett Dodge, an area business that has given service improving the quality of business life in the greater Hatboro community.

"On behalf of the chamber awards committee," says Chamber President Joseph J. Tryon, Jr., "I want to thank everyone who nominated a candidate for these prestigious awards, and to all exemplary candidates who have selflessly dedicated time and energy to help our community prosper and grow."

The Borough Ball will be held from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. This year's theme is "Black and White."
