Upper Moreland Intermediate School Celebrates Diversity Day

Upper Moreland Intermediate School Celebrated Diversity Day on January 11, 2013. It is a school rich in diversity of cultures, languages, interests and abilities. These differences make our school stronger in knowledge, acceptance, tolerance and appreciation of differences. We embrace our diversity because it makes our school a more compassionate place to be each day.

Our differences add excitement and wonder in our classrooms, through literature, projects, technology and discussions. Our diversity allows us to become stronger and better informed individuals.

This year our focus was on art, music and dance, areas of diversity that are easily and often shared.  We began our program with third grade students, with their parade of flags and traditional clothing. Fifth grade students performed four dances, from four different continents. Other fifth grade students provided opening and closing remarks as well as background information about each dance.
