FRESH GROUND Coffee House Presents: CLEAR APPROACH Jazz Quartet

FRESH GROUND Coffee House presents JAZZ AND ART on April 26, 2013!  We will once again host the Clear Approach Jazz Quartet - one of the highlights of our year of live music for Willow Grove and surrounding communities!  Enjoy great smooth jazz standards as you sit back and listen or chat with your friends. The evening is FREE - enjoy our delicious coffee & tea, yummy baked goods and terrific cozy atmosphere - come and go as you please during our open hours: 8pm to midnight.

We also feature local fine artists that share their talent in our gallery space.  This month, we have a dynamic duo: Patricia Allingham Carlson and David Allingham.  Patricia is sharing her paintings and photography and David is sharing his guitar building/restoration work.

About Patricia Allingham Carlson: "A graduate with high distinction from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education, Patricia has pursued a lifelong interest in art. While showing her work in juried shows in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Patricia has also been involved in teaching adults and children in her home studio since 1980. Her work is primarily done with watercolor collage, and mixed media. Throughout Patricia's adult life she has been painting and enjoying presenting images of the world as seen and imagined. imagined. The paintings you see here are frequently textural, suggesting multiple layers of images through time. Ancient scenes, structures, people from long ago, and realms weave through many of these paintings. She hides faces and figures in her Dreamscape paintings as subtle representations of the life spirits in living and inanimate subjects. If less inclined toward fantasy, explore the landscapes and visit the more realistic work that focuses on the beauty of nature and Patricia's fascination with the moods conveyed by the human face."  Her website: http://www.allinghamcarlson.com

About David E. C. Allingham: "A maker is a person who makes things. All of my life I have been compelled to create things, and have pursued this both as a hobby and profession. Given the beauty of natural materials, I have crafted furniture with inlay, guitars, chessboard and men, walls and houses. With the visual impact of glass I have created windows. Restoration of past creations is another challenge I enjoy, bringing back and enhancing past glory. Even my yard is the palette for flowers and my fishponds I create. My work is as varied as my interests, and I hope you will enjoy seeing my projects."
