WEATHER ALERT: Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain Headed to Pa. on Sunday

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 10 a.m. Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain is likely Sunday afternoon and evening throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, according to weather.com.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, saying periods of snow and wintry precipitation are likely beginning Sunday afternoon and going into the evening.

The Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 10 a.m. Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the Lehigh Valley will see the most snow accumulation, with up to five inches possible there.

In the Philadelphia region along the I-95 corridor, snow, then sleet and freezing rain is likely. Between one and three inches of snow is possible, the Weather Channel says.

Precipitation will likely start early Sunday afternoon. A transition to freezing rain is possible by late afternoon in the Philadelphia region and by the evening in the Lehigh Valley.

Precipitation will taper off overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service warns driving conditions may be slippery Sunday afternoon and evening, especially on untreated roads. Also, isolated power outages are possible.
