Crew Team Dominates in Final Regatta of the Season
Every rower on the team earned at least one medal with 10 out of 11 boats placing.
The Upper St Clair High School crew team rowed in its final regatta of the season on Saturday. Mercyhurst Prep played host to teams from Pennsylvania and New York at their 33rd Annual Invitational Regatta on Presque Isle Bay in Erie, PA. The Panthers rowed in 11 boats and medaled in all but one.
The team finished first in four races receiving gold medals for the Men’s Varsity 4+, the Men’s Novice 4+ A, the Men’s Novice 8+ and the Men’s Varsity 8+.
Three second place finishes brought silver medals for the Women’s Novice 4+, the Men’s Novice 4+ B and the Women’s JV 4+.

The team took third place for three bronze medals in the Women’s Varsity 4+, Men’s Lightweight 4+ and Men’s JV 8+.
Team recruiting efforts are underway for the 2012-13 season. Interested 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students and their parents can find more information on the team’s website, usccrew.org, or join the team for their annual boathouse tour on May 30 at 4 p.m. Transportation will be provided.
