Why No Consideration of Women to be the Next Pope?
Would the Church Have Avoided the Priest Molester Imbroglio Had Women Been in Positions of Authority?
As the Catholic Church scrambles to find a successor to Pope Benedict, why are we not hearing anything about leading candidates for the position among women? The Church is an organization which recognizes the value of all human beings and the mammoth contributions women have made to our society, does it not? How is a policy of baseless discrimination justified in what we would like to believe is an era of enlightenment?
Would molester priests have been shielded and shuffled from parish to parish if there had been a female Pope and female Cardinals in the era in which their crime spree was in its heyday?
