3rd Annual Voices For A Cure Concert for Lupus

The 3rd Annual Voices for a Cure concert in memory of Upper St Clair resident Jerry Wayne Summers who died from Lupus 4 years ago will be held at Bellefield Hall on the campus of Pitt on Sunday March 24th at 7:30.

The concert is the brainchild of Upper St Clair resident and former Upper St Clair student, Rocky Paterra, who is now a junior at Pitt. He is part of an amazing A Capella group on campus called the Pitt Pendulums.

Three years ago, as an act of love for his best friend Emily Summers, the daughter of Jerry, he organized an amazing evening of music from all of the Pitt vocal groups like the Heinz Chapel Choir, the C Flat Notes and many others and donated all of the proceeds from that concert to the Lupus Center of Excellence, a cutting edge research and treatment arm of UPMC Hospital.

He along with Becky Summers, Jerry's wife, wanted all of the money raised at the concert to be designated only for research so that a cure or at least better treatments can be found for this devastating disease.

Emily Summers, who is now a Christian recording artist will be coming in from Nashville to perform as a special guest.

There is no cost, but a $5 donation at the door is requested.

The auditorium seats 676 people and we would LOVE to sell it out. Get some friends, plan a dinner out and then come to the concert which promises to be amazing.

It is Sunday March 24th, at 7:30 at Bellefield Music Hall on S. Bellefield Avenue, Oakland (Pittsburgh).
