The California University Concert Band (under the direction of Dr. Charles Marty Sharer) and Community Band South (co-directed by Dean Streator and James Bennet) will present their annual shared & combined concert in the Upper St. Clair High School Theater at 8:00 PM on Monday, April 8, 2013. Each band will perform separately, and then join together to present John Philip Sousa’s “Semper Fidelis.”
Community Band South is celebrating its 26th year and is mainly composed of musicians from the South Hills area. The band provides an outlet for former high school college musicians, which meets its motto of “Music is for a Lifetime.” The band rehearses in the Upper St. Clair High School Band Room every Monday evening, 7:30-9:30 PM.
