Layoffs Hit State School System

Clarion University cuts jobs, with more possible at five other colleges.

Two of the 14 schools inΒ Pennsylvania's System of Higher EducationΒ have announced layoffs in the past two months.

That'sΒ according to the Harrisburg Patriot-News, which says that cuts thatΒ Edinboro UniversityΒ announcedΒ onΒ TuesdayΒ follow similar staff reductions atΒ Clarion UniversityΒ in August.

The newspaper noted that five other state schoolsβ€”Cheyney,Β East Stroudsburg,Β Kutztown,Β MansfieldΒ andΒ Slippery Rockβ€”could potentially see layoffs next year.
