5 Fun Things To Do In Bucks County This Weekend

From "End of Summer" Library events to a car show and history tour, county residents have several events scheduled for adults and children.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —As summer starts to fade away, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your children at several events planned for the youngsters in Bucks County.

Peddler's Village is hosting a Winnie-the-Pooh Family Bruch. Meanwhile, two libraries in Lower Bucks County are offering special events, with an "end of summer" party at the Southampton Free Library and a doodle bus at the Warminster Township Library.

For adults, you can still check out car shows like one of the oldest antique shows around in New Hope. Or get a taste of Nashville will a band playing at the Bristol Township Amphitheatre Saturday night. There's also a Brewfest in downtown Yardley. You can also learn about George Washington's troop movements during a history tour in New Hope.

Rev Up Engine At The Annual New Hope Automobile Show

The New Hope Automobile Show is a Bucks County tradition and one of the oldest antique car shows in the country. The two-day show at the New Hope-Solebury High School features the finest foreign and domestic classic and antique vehicles. Nationally recognized judging standards are employed for each marque. Historical Society Tour Traces New Hope's Role In War For Independence

During a special walking tour on Sunday, the New Hope Historical Society will trace the movements of George Washington’s troops through New Hope during two important events in American history. Led by historical society board member and author, Roy Ziegler, the tour will explore the locations, conditions, and events surrounding Washington's march from Valley Forge to New Hope and his encampment in New Hope on the banks of the Delaware River. Bus Doodle, "End of Summer" Party At 2 Libraries

The Warminster Township Free Library is hosting the Doodlery Art Bus at its Emma Lane location at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The event was rescheduled due to inclement weather last month and marks the end of the library's summer reading program. The free event is outside the library's front driveway. No registration is required. Bring the family to paint the bus and dress to avoid a mess.

The Southampton Free Library on 947 Street Rd. is celebrating its "end of summer" reading program with visitors from a "galaxy far far away." Darth Vader is in the house. Well, at least his cardboard cutout is, which will be one of the raffle prizes. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be hot dogs and ice cream while supplies last. The library will also raffle off a Funko Pop and Lego set related to our visitors as well as two tickets to Adventure Aquarium, two tickets to TreeTrails Adventure, and three passes to Longwood Gardens. No registration is required.

Winnie-the-Pooh Family Brunch At Peddler's Village

Guests of all ages are invited to a bountiful brunch featuring Winnie-the-Pooh and special entertainment at Peddler's Village in Lahaska on Sunday.

The brunch buffet will be accompanied by live music with Lolly Hopwood, storytime, and a Winnie-the-Pooh-inspired children’s craft. A favorite character from the Hundred Acre Wood will meet and greet guests and pose for photographs. All guests will receive a coupon for a free carousel ride at Giggleberry Fair. Be sure to stay for Stories in Sand, a Village-wide display of storied sand sculptures! Reservations are required.

The brunch takes place at the Cock ‘n Bull Restaurant from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.

Tickets are $57.50 for adults and $28.75 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under age 2 are free.

Nashville Experience Coming to Bristol Township

The Bristol Township Parks and Recreation is bringing Nashville to the township on Saturday. Shot of Southern will perform from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Bristol Township's Amphitheatre. Tickets are available at the Bristol Township Municipal Building Monday through Friday. Tickets are $11 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Tickets can also be purchased at the door prior to the performance. Sandy's Beef & Ale & Foxy's Funnel Cake will serve beer, wine, dinner, and dessert. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
