BUCKS COUNTY, PA —The transformation is taking place.

You can feel it in the air as heat waves break for cooler temperatures and planners switch from summer events to ones focusing on fall.

Words like scarecrows and Oktoberfest are showing up in the vocabulary of Bucks County weekend events even though there's still one official week of summer to go.

Festivals are still taking center stage this weekend but there's also a K9s Car Show in Warrington and an "oldies" concert in Bristol Borough. And if you're a foodie, you can sample some of the 13 food trucks appearing at Warminster Community Park on Saturday.

Just to throw out a few other mentions of events not listed below: St. John Bosco in Warminster is holding a carnival. Morrisville hosts an Irish Festival at Williamson Park on Sunday. There's also the Padre Pio Festival this weekend in Southampton. And Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield Township is also holding a fall festival.

Scarecrow Festival Returns To Peddler's Village

Scarecrow season returns to Peddler's Village in Lahaska with a display of more than 100 handmade creations, all designed to, well, scare the crows away and bring in the visitors. In addition to the village-wide display, the village's Scarecrow Festival takes place this weekend. The festival features scarecrow workshops, live music, a juggling show, pumpkin painting, axe throwing, sand art, and food and drinks. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

Doylestown Farmers Market Kicks Off Oktoberfest

Join the Doylestown Farmers Market as they kick off Oktoberfest this Saturday. Opening ceremonies take place at 9 a.m. Vendors will have Oktoberfest treats, lots of soft pretzels, and ingredients for making your own Oktoberfest recipes at home. The first 100 adults (21+) to check in at the green market tent will get a free Oktoberfest cup that can be taken to the Hops/Scotch Beer Garden starting at 11:30 a.m. for a special $5 Weihenstephaner Oktoberfest beer. Community partners PA Soup & Seafood will offer Oktoberfest dishes you can order while at the Hops/Scotch Beer Garden, and Penn Taproom will offer Oktoberfest beers on tap.

Bucks Fall Food Truck Festival Features 13 Vendors

Bring your appetite to Warminster Community Park on Saturday. More than a dozen food trucks will be among the vendors for the Bucks Fall Food Truck & Music Fest taking place at Warminster Community Park at 350 E. Bristol Rd. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event features 13 food trucks, craft vendors, vintage cars and motorcycles, live entertainment, and children's activities. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

18th Annual "Oldies on the River" Concert In Bristol

It's an annual tradition steeped in music history. The 18th annual "Oldies on the River" concert takes place at 5 p.m. Saturday in Bristol Borough with a lineup featuring Bobby Wilson, son of the late soul singer Jackie Wilson. The concert is free. The lineup also includes The Vogues, Charlie Thomas’ Drifters featuring Jeff Hall, The Chiclettes, and Dennis Tufano, the original singer of The Buckinghams. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

3rd Annual Kruisin’ with the K9s Car Show In Warrington

The Warrington Township Police Department will hold its third annual Kruisin’ with the K9s Car Show from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday at the Shops at Valley Square at 1501 Main St. in Warrington. The rain date is Sunday. The event features K9 demonstrations from Warrington and other local police departments, the chance to meet Warrington K-9s Jolie, Murphy, and the newest Abby, and see vintage, antique, and custom cars along with police vehicles on display.
