Alex and Arleen Boyes Memorial 5k
This 5k run and 3k walk is held at Warminster Community Park in memory of Alex & Arleen Boyes.

Alex and Arleen Boyes Memorial 5k – August 8 – 9:00am
Warminster Community Park, 300 Veterans Way, Warminster, PA 18974
This event is held in memory of Alex & Arleen Boyes. Alex lost his fight with melanoma at the age of 22. He was a graduate of Council Rock South, Middle Bucks Institute of Technology and the CHI Institute. Alex completed his Eagle Scout project at Gilda’s Club in 2004, where he refurbished the barbecue pit area. Alex was also a member of the walk/run group. Alex’s mother, Arleen Boyes, was an active member of Gilda’s Club attending monthly meetings including the quilting circle and the annual Camp Discovery for women with breast cancer. She also was an outstanding and active member of the volunteer committee volunteering her time at our satellite location at Abington Memorial Hospital and for many other events and pro- grams. She organized the Alex Boyes’ walk as she courageously battled breast cancer. Arleen lost her battle but we continue this event in both Alex’s and Arleen’s memory so that others do not have to face cancer alone. CSCGP at Gilda’s Club provides a place where men, women and children with any type of cancer can come together to learn how to live with cancer and celebrate the challenges and opportunities of life. Since opening their doors in 2003, Gilda’s Club has provided free social and emotional support to more than 2,000 members. Awards will be given out to the top overall and age group finishers.
