Brady Or Dallas? Eagles Will Have To Wait: Philly Sports Chatter
The Philadelphia Eagles will face the New York Giants Saturday night. If they win, they get Dallas, Tampa Bay or San Francisco.

WARMINSTER, PA —Do you want the Goat or the Star? We will have to now wait a week.
The Philadelphia Eagles beat to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC and have the opportunity to watch some playoff football this weekend without putting on their uniforms?

That’s what the No. 1 seed means: A bye week to rest up and get Quarterback Jalen Hurts as healthy as possible.
As teams play in the Wild Card round this weekend, the Eagles found out their playoff opponent Sunday when the New York Giants knocked off the Minnesota Vikings.

That actually happened.
The Giants have turned out to be a pretty solid team this year. Maybe that’s why the Birds didn’t show much against them in their win Sunday. Maybe the Birds know that this opponent could be the one.
While we will watch “Monday Night Football” and the big game between the hated Dallas Cowboys and the even more hated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even that game might not matter now.
The Eagles have to beat the Giants. And the winner of Dallas and Tampa Bay will have to play the San Francisco 49ers, who are considered the best team in football right now.
So who would we rather face: Brady or Dak and the Boys?
Well, the Cowboys usually choke in the playoffs no matter how hot they get during the regular season.
Brady, while he is 75 years old or seems to have played that long, is the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
And while Brady has aged, he is still a formidable opponent, one who beat the Birds in the playoffs last year. But we did beat him in the 2017 Super Bowl and he’s still pissed about that.
So that could be scary, especially if Hurts is hurt more than we were told. What if Brady beats us again? Now that would really sting. And we all know what great satisfaction Brady would take in carving the Birds up.
What really matters, though, might not be the opponent but the health of the Eagles coming off the bye week.
Several key players are trying to return from injury so to get Josh Sweat and Lane Johnson back would help solidify the offense and defense. And what really matters is Hurts.
When the Eagles were rolling through the season, everyone was healthy, the defense was solid, the offense was explosive, and Hurts was playing at an MVP level.
That's why they were the best team in football for most of the year. But now they need to be the best team in the playoffs.
So bring on Brady or the Dallas Cowboys. Or the 49ers.
The opponent really won't matter as long as the Birds are in top-top shape. We'll see next weekend. Until then, enjoy this playoff round.
