CB East Football to Honor Former Player, Raise Awareness & Support Rare Cancer Research

Doylestown, PA – (Team Connor 2026)

Central Bucks East High School Football will host their home opener Friday, September 4th at 7:00 PM at Patriot Stadium in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness and former student-athlete Connor Boyle, whose life and legacy continue to inspire the community.

Connor, a beloved CB East football and baseball player, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in 2019. With “Uncommon Grit”—Connor endured countless procedures and treatments, ultimately graduating in 2022 with a 4.0 GPA. Accepted into Villanova University, Connor tragically passed away in August 2022, but his spirit of perseverance, grace, and kindness continues to inspire family, friends, teammates, and the broader community.

One of Connor’s wishes was to raise awareness regarding Osteosarcoma to generate more funding and research to find a cure. In 2023, The Connor Initiative: Precision Therapeutics for Osteosarcoma & Rare Cancers, was established at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to support cutting-edge research in osteosarcoma and other rare cancers.

“Connor embodied grit, grace, and perseverance, both on and off the field. Honoring him through this game is a way for our athletes, families, and community to ensure his legacy lives on while supporting a cause that was close to his heart,” said CB East Football head coach, John Donnelly.

Throughout the game donations will be accepted and Team Connor t-shirts will be available for sale inside the stadium entrance.
