Catalytic Converter Thefts Continue In Warminster Township: Police

The Warminster Police Department reported two catalytic converter thefts, adding to a rash of these crimes in the past few months.

WARMINSTER, PA —Add two more to the tally.

The Warminster Township Police Department is investigating two incidents of catalytic converter thefts, adding to a rash of these crimes over the past few months in the township.

On Nov. 13, police responded to an apartment/condo complex on the 600 block of Street Road for the report of at least two vehicles that had catalytic converters stolen from them while parked in different areas of the complex.

In mid-September, police were saying that catalytic converter thefts were on the rise in Warminster and Lower Bucks County.

In early October, catalytic converters were stolen from five Centennial School Districtbuses.

The catalytic converter thefts were among the most recent criminal incidents the Warminster Township Police Department reported in its police blotter for the period of Oct. 31 to Nov. 13.

The incidents are:

  • Access Device Fraud —After completing an investigation, police filed charges against a 19-year-old Warminster man for Access Device Fraud and Identity theft. The 19-year-old is accused of taking another person’s credit card and using it without permission.
  • Retail Theft Arrest — On Nov. 5, police responded to the Walmart store for the report of a retail theft. Officers completed their investigation and charged a 37-year-old Southampton man with Felony Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
  • Driving Under the Influence Arrest —On Nov. 6, around 1:01 a.m., police stopped a vehicle for traffic violation(s) in the area of York and Street roads. After investigating further, a 37-year-old Southampton man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
  • Simple Assault Arrest —After completing an investigation, police charged a 57-year-old Philadelphia man with Simple Assault and related offenses after investigating an altercation that took place in the area of the 700 block of Falcon Circle.
  • Drug Possession Arrest — Police charged a 17-year-old Warminster man with possession of drugs after responding to an incident at the high school and completing an investigation.
  • Theft Arrest —Police completed an investigation of several fraudulent transactions by an employee at a local retail store. A 35-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with the thefts and related offenses.
  • Protection from Abuse Order Violation — On Nov. 10, police received a call regarding a violation of a court-ordered Protection from Abuse order. After investigation, a 26-year-old Warminster man was charged with the violation of said order.
  • Reported Stolen Motor Scooter Investigation —At 01:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, police took a report of a stolen motor scooter from the parking lot of Walmart located in the 100 block of E. Street Road. The theft is said to have occurred sometime in the evening hours of Nov. 12 while it was parked in the lot. The incident is under investigation.
