“Our goal is to create a supportive community where parents feel empowered to assist their children in their reading and spelling journey,” Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden said.

He said the event is spearheaded by Rose Miele, Coordinator of Teaching and Learning, and others in the Office of Teaching and Learning.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, learn new techniques, and celebrate the joy of reading,” the superintendent said.

The reading event is focused on phonics, spelling, and reading activities from “A Parent’s Guide to Phonics: Understanding How to Help Your Child with Reading and Spelling.”

It is part of the Centennial's ongoing commitment to enhancing literacy skills and fostering strong family partnerships.

"By working together, parents and educators can make a meaningful difference in children’s academic success and well-being," Bedden said.
