Centennial Teachers Sue District For Equal Pay
The Centennial School District said the wage allegations made by two teachers in the lawsuit came prior to the current administration.

WARMINSTER, PA —Two teachers in the Centennial School District are suing for equal pay they say their male counterparts with the same experience and education levels are receiving.
The two teachers filed a collective action complaint last month, the Bucks County Courier News reported. The newspaper said that teachers Denise Kravitz and Lori Warren allege they had years of previous teaching experience, but their salaries were on the "lowest rung" of the schedule.
The school district said in a statement that it will be represented in the lawsuit by legal counsel as approved by its insurance provider.

"As this allegation was never shared prior to the lawsuit with anyone in the current administration and relates to an event that occurred prior to this administration, there is not much that we can share," the district statement said.
The school district said it would follow the guidance given by legal counsel and comply with any legal requirements.

The school district said it prohibits unlawful discrimination and takes the allegations seriously.
The lawsuit asks the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia to find that the district violated the federal Equal Pay Act, the newspaper said.
The teachers are represented by Philadelphia attorney Edward Mazurek. The newspaper said the attorney is also representing more than 300 teachers in a collective action suit alleging unfair pay practices in the Central Bucks School District.
Mazurek could not be reached for comment Monday.
