WARMINSTER, PA —The Centennial School District is continuing its fight against hunger by joining Giant in a program to start the new year.
School officials announced partnering with Giant Food Store's Feeding School Kids Round Up program from Jan. 1 to Feb. 28. That's when parents and community members can round up at the register to support public school district efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger.
Through the Feeding School Kids initiative, public school districts like the Centennial School District can use funds to support meal programs to expand food distribution programs, create on-campus food pantries, supply extra weekend meals, and eliminate outstanding student meal debt.

Giant Food Stores said this past year, it asked shoppers involved in the program to round up their grocery purchase to the nearest dollar or convert their CHOICE points into a donation for their local public schools’ food programs.
The program raised more than $1.4 million. Giant matched the first $250,000 donated by customers. Monies contributed by customers will remain in their communities with each store being matched to a local school district.
Through the Feeding School Kids initiative, school districts are able to use the funds to support meal programs such as covering outstanding student meal debt, expanding food distribution programs, creating on-campus food pantries, and supplying extra weekend meals.
School districts across all of our operating states will receive funding to continue on their mission of addressing food insecurities.
