WARMINSTER, PA —As work continues on the demolition of Shenandoah Woods, residents can now see for themselves how the project is progressing.

Warminster Township has released a minute of drone footage showing the cleanup work at the old Navy development site. The footage shows an overview of the work with houses partially demolished and construction crews on the scene.

Warminster Township posted the footage from the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority Tuesday on the township's website.

Township Manager Tom Scott updated supervisors at last week's meeting about the project, saying that the houses are coming down and most will be demolished soon. Scott had previously told the board that the houses were being demolished at a "rapid rate."

He said that would leave 119 concrete slabs and he is working with the redevelopment authority to determine the cost for removal and when that work can be completed.

Township supervisors inspected the scene recently to pose with construction equipment and the demolition contractor and to see the progress of the $1.7 million project.

The project was approved to be razed in 2012.

The vacant development was designated a blighted area in 2011 by the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority and Warminster planning commission, given the area’s inadequate planning, faulty street layout and economically undesirable land use.

In late July, Beinke Wrecking was awarded the bid by supervisors.
