Eagles And Phillies All Fans Care About: Philly Sports Chatter
Poor Joel Embiid and the 76ers lurk in the shadows. The championship runs by the Phillies and Eagles have made Philadelphia a two-team town.

WARMINSTER, PA —Poor Joel Embiid.
The superstar for the Philadelphia 76ers is having yet another monster season.
The annual MVP candidate is once again dominating the court even though he got snubbed to start the NBA All-Star Game this year after starting for the past five years. The Sixers are once again climbing the ladder in the Eastern Conference, battling the likes of the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks.

But does anyone care right now? Probably not.
Embiid could score 100 points like Wilt Chamberlain once did and he would find himself in the shadows still on fans licking their wounds from last week's Super Bowl loss and the fact that pitchers and catchers reported to Clearwater this week.

With the Birds and Phillies both lengthening their season with runs to the championships with the Super Bowl and the World Series, the time between has gotten a little shorter and the Sixers and Flyers have fallen through the cracks.
Philadelphia has become a two-team town.
Most of us even forget there's a hockey team still playing. The Flyers have struggled for years now to put together a team worthy of playoff contention though new coach John Tortorella is finding ways to inspire his young players to reach new heights.
If management can get straightened out, this team might have a shot at catching fans' attention.
As for the Sixers, the season is always a long one. Embiid and fellow superstar James Harden will drive the team into the playoffs and Coach Doc Rivers will have them knocked out after a round or two.
What usually happens year after year is that Embiid just can't stay healthy during the playoffs and the team crumbles.
We can count on the Eagles to make the playoffs. And we can count on them now to go pretty deep. That should continue for the next half-decade.
Despite the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the year was one that went beyond expectations and showed the true promise of quarterback Jalen Hurts.
And while March Madness is around the corner, there's no more Jay Wright to lead the Villanova Wildcats to a Final Four.
So we turn our eyes toward Florida.
Pitchers and catchers just reported and we're all pretty excited about the Phillies after surprising everyone by getting to the World Series. Even though the team lost to the Houston Astros, management is pushing to be just like the Eagles.
We should expect the playoffs and another World Series trip.
Spring training games are right around the corner. Baseball begins in a little more than a month.
The Phillies and Eagles are all we need.
