  1. What are the top issues currently facing your position and how do you plan to address them?

The top issues currently facing this position are the ongoing opioid crisis, mental health, and general public health awareness. I believe that addressing these three issues is integral to the role of the coroner in Bucks County. As a nurse, I have seen firsthand the impact that misinformation can have in the healthcare space and it is the responsibility of elected officials to communicate vital health and safety information with their constituents. I believe that proper education and intervention are crucial to address the opioid crisis and mental health struggles that many young people face today.

2. Identify specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your position:

The last few years have shown me that general education surrounding public health is easily swayed, and has reinforced my belief that it is a duty of the government to educate and inform the public. I believe the local and federal governments must work together to share truthful information about public health crises. I believe the coroner position has a unique ability to share county-specific data regarding the opioid crisis and mental health issues faced by residents of Bucks County. This county-specific data can be used to help create programming to help address these issues.

3. What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?

Due to the intersection of my professional life, I believe I have the qualities to perform the duties of Bucks County Coroner. Through my managerial experience with running a small carpentry business and my career as a chemotherapy nurse, I will be able to successfully run the office while approaching the position with the necessary compassion and empathy needed. Being a nurse for over 16 years, I have witnessed the impact that health and safety have on people's lives. My medical background gives me a deeper understanding of the complex medical issues involved in death investigations and my particular experience as an oncology nurse has given me a unique perspective on the impact of illness and death on communities.
