Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church's (NWPC) Mission Team and ShopRite of Warminster are teaming up for a Fill the Holiday Truck food collection event to benefit Warminster Food Pantry on Saturday, December 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (rain or shine). The event will take place at ShopRite of Warminster located at 942 W. Street Road, Warminster, Pa.

Area residents and business owners are invited to participate and shoppers will be provided with a list of items needed at the store’s entrances. Items collected will help provide monthly groceries and supplies for families in need in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Donations of cash or ShopRite gift cards will also be accepted.

NWPC will provide a holiday-themed, decorated truck for the event and volunteers from the church’s Mission Team will be on hand to work with ShopRite employees and ShopRite customers to fill the truck with food and non-perishables. The items collected will be provided by Warminster Food Bank to people in need in Warminster and the surrounding communities. The Warminster Food Bank serves over 10,000 people a year in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

“Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church has had a long history of sponsoring community food drives for the Warminster Food Bank and other area pantries,” said Barbara Louderback of the NWPC Mission Team. “We are neighbors called to serve those in need. We want to thank ShopRite of Warminster and the Cowhey family for their support of the "Fill the Truck" event at their store. They are always here for our community and we are grateful.”

“Unfortunately, food insecurity is a year-round problem,” said Mike Cerino, Director, Warminster Food Bank. “During this season of giving, we urge people to come out, make a donation of non-perishable food items and groceries and help us brighten the holiday season for those who are experiencing food insecurity in our local communities.”

About the Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church
A vibrant community of faith in Warminster, Pa., Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church is diverse generationally with worship that blends contemporary and traditional music. The congregation has a long and storied history. The Church was founded in 1726 by the Reverend William Tennent, a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, who set sail for the new world and landed in Philadelphia on September 6, 1718. In 1726, he moved to Bucks County and preached first in Bensalem, near the mouth of the Neshaminy Creek. He then made his way up the creek, to the area near the “forks,” where there were enough Scotch-Irish Presbyterians to organize a congregation. The following year, 1727, a meetinghouse was begun on the grounds of the present cemetery. All that remains of the original sanctuary is its datestone, now embedded in the cemetery’s south wall, near the church’s current chapel. To learn more, visit https://nwpc.net/
