The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania has officially kicked off its 2026 cookie season in the Philadelphia region.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — Just like a winter storm this year, the tables of Girl Scout cookies are lined up everywhere throughout communities in the Philadelphia region.
"The 2026 cookie season is a special time of year, as GSEP celebrates America’s 250th anniversary by honoring the first-ever Girl Scout cookie sale," the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania stated.

In 1933, local Girl Scouts baked and sold the first Girl Scout Cookie at the Philadelphia Gas and Electric Company.
Three years later, the cookie sale was adopted by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. as a national program.

From now through March 22, Girl Scouts will be selling boxes of Thin Mints and other popular cookies, including a new one this year.
That cookie is called Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie. Filled with chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond-flavored crème, Exploremores "reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout," the organization said.
