Hartsville Fire Company Hosting Free Camp In July
The Warminster fire company will join neighboring departments to teach basic skills to those interested in becoming a firefighter.

WARMINSTER, PA —The Hartsville Fire Company will host a free summer camp for teenagers who may want to become firefighters.
The annual free summer fire camp takes place in July and is a collaboration with fire companies from Warminster, Warwick, Warrington, Southampton, and Ivyland.
Hartsville said the camp will teach those interested in becoming a firefighter or making it a career the basics of firefighting and how to interact with firefighters.

Participants will learn about hose rolls, carries and packing, fire hydrant operations, fire extinguisher operations, deluge gun operations, self-contained breathing apparatus, and pump connections, among other skills, the Southampton Fire Company said.
The hands-on program will teach individual skills and team skills with the final night devoted to a simulated fire with all attendees responding on a fire truck.

The camp is open to anyone 14 years or older.
Participants do not have to live in Hartsville Fire Company District to attend camp.
The camp will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 5, 12, 19, and 26.

Meanwhile, the fire companies and departments joined forces recently for some recruiting.
In late May, representatives from Warminster, Hartsville, Southampton, and Ivyland fire companies visited William Tennent High School as a united recruitment effort within the Centennial School District community.
