It's Official: No Tax Increase In 2017 Bucks County Budget

Rejoice, taxpayers! This marks the 10th time in 11 years the county has kept property taxes level.

Bucks County Commissioners unanimously approved the 2017 budget recently which signifies the 10th budget in 11 years that has not impacted taxpayer wallets.

The county approved the $414.7 million budget at its Dec. meeting, according to the county. The 2016 budget stood at $402 million.

The 2017 budget includes $86.2 million marked for the county's the Human Services division, $63.6 million to Courts, and $39 million to Corrections, the county said.

“The line items in this budget don’t tell the story of the challenges we faced,” Commissioners Robert G. Loughery said. “We had to make some difficult decisions, ones we are going to have to make again in 2018 and 2019.”
