WARMINSTER, PA. —Savannah's Lemonade Stand is in full swing, even as the seasons change from summer to fall.

For the William Tennent High School 11th grader, this isn't just your ordinary lemonade stand to get a cool drink on a warm summer afternoon. This lemonade stand raises funds for cancer research —this year's 9th annual fundraiser is Oct. 22 —and serves as a tribute to Savannah Zeaman's late teacher.

I run my lemonade stand every year to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and cancer research. I first started my lemonade stand in honor of my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Shelmier. She passed away from cancer a year after I had her as a teacher —when I was in first grade. I felt so horrible after her passing and never wanted anyone to have to feel the way I did. In hopes of making a difference, I started my stand and have continued it every year since. It means so much to me to do what I can to help the less fortunate, as I am conscious of how lucky I am. I hope to continue Savannah’s Lemonade Stand for years to come.”

Savannah has run the fundraiser —which will be held at 688 Sheldon Drive —since she was in 2nd grade. All proceeds are donated to CHOP Cancer Research. So far, Savannah has raised $930 this year with a goal of $4,000. Click here to donate.

"Each year, I sell homemade cookies, hot cider, "Cake My Day" cupcakes and lemonade to raise money to find a cure for cancer," she posted on her Facebook page. "If you can't visit my stand on Oct. 22, I'd love for you to make a donation. No amount is too small."
