Lower Bucks Unclaimed Veterans To Be Laid To Rest

Two Lower Bucks unclaimed veterans and the unclaimed wife of a veteran will receive full military honors at a burial service Thursday.

WARMINSTER, PA —Two Lower Bucks unclaimed veterans and the unclaimed wife of a veteran are among five who will receive full military honors during an Unattended Veterans Service next week.

The ceremony is being held jointly between the Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck, who is based in Warminster, and Montgomery County coroner's office.

An Unattended Service is held once a month at Washington Crossing National Cemetery for veterans who have passed away and have no relatives, living or deceased, who will be in attendance.

The public and the clergy are invited to attend to show their thanks for the service rendered to the nation. The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.

  • William Bauer, U.S. Army Specialist (Vietnam War era), from Warminster Township. who passed away in 2023 in Montgomery County.
  • Amelia Emma Caro, wife of a World War II veteran from Bristol Township, who passed away in 2013 in Bucks County.
  • John Campbell Morgan, U.S. Navy Yeoman Seaman Recruit (Vietnam era), from Warrington Township, who passed away in 2013 in Bucks County.
  • William Strauss, U.S. Army Private First Class (Korean War era), from Springfield Township, who passed away in 2012 in Bucks County)
  • Leonard Wilson, U.S. Army Recruit (Korean War era), from Middletown Township, who passed away in 2012 in Bucks County.

During the ceremony, the names of the deceased will be read and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will present the flag on the behalf of the veterans.

A rifle salute and live Taps will be provided.

After the ceremony, the veterans and veteran’s wife will each be placed in their own niche in the columbarium, which will be engraved with the words “Proudly Served” and “Loving Wife.”
