WARMINSTER---On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, McDonald Elementary School will host two meetings for English as a Second Language (ESL) families that will provide information about upcoming school events and projects undertaken by the Home and School Association (HSA). Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, and a translator will be available. The meetings are scheduled from 11:00 AM-12 noon and 6:30 PM-7:30 PM at the school.

The agenda will cover the January and February McDonald calendars, ESL annual assessments, WIDA ACCESS for ELLs (a secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment given to Kindergarten through 12th graders who have been identified as English language learners), February parent-teacher conferences, and the February spirit wear sale.

In January, 2014, McDonald Elementary School launched an outreach program to improve communication with the families of its ESL students and to increase parent involvement. Meetings are held monthly to strengthen the relationship between the Home and School Association and multicultural families, provide information about the school and its events, and to ensure parents are engaged and involved with their children’s educational experiences.

For more information, contact the school at 215-441-6157. McDonald Elementary School is located at 666 Reeves Lane, Warminster, PA.
