Microblading Now Offered at Stars di Prinzi Salon

Imagine having eyebrows that are thin, sparse or patchy due to over-plucking, chemotherapy or behavioral disorders such as Trichotillomania, a disorder on the OCD spectrum associated with hair or eyebrow pulling. Some people use brow liner and are pleased with the results. Of course, liner doesn’t last very long, and until recently, there weren’t many alternatives for persons with less than full eyebrows.

Microblading or eyebrow "embroidery" is the latest technique for creating fuller looking eyebrows. A form of cosmetic tattooing, in which pigment is implanted into the dermis (the layer of skin under the outer layer or the epidermis) with a configuration of very fine needles, Microblading is a process of adding semi-permanent ink to the eyebrows using tiny brush strokes to mimic eyebrow hairs, giving the brows a fuller appearance. Because the needles are extremely fine, the lines created with this procedure actually resemble eyebrow hair. While there may be some color fading over time, the procedure is permanent.

This procedure has given people with sparse or patchy eyebrows a chance to restore their eyebrows to a full and natural-looking appearance. For cancer patients in particular, Microblading can help a patient feel like him/herself again without having to deal with the embarrassment of the loss of facial hair.

Stars di Prinzi Salon in Warrington began offering this procedure in 2016. Microblading requires extensive training and safety protocols. Kathy Masterson, the salon’s Microblading specialist has undergone 100 hours of training, as specified by the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP.org). The salon uses disposable needles and the equipment is sterilized to medical standards. “I love how much of a difference Microblading makes in my clients’ self-image and self-esteem,” says Masterson. "Microblading is a beautiful and safe alternative for those who are unable to have full looking eyebrows on their own.”
