On Thursday morning, a 75-year-old Southampton man was struck and killed on Street Road at the intersection of East Street Road and the Bucks Crossing Shopping Center by the ACME., the Lower Southampton Township Police Department said.

Scena IV was a longtime officer in the region, most recently serving Phoenixville. He was previously a patrolman in Philadelphia and the city of Chester, as well as a corrections officer at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

According to a close friend of the family and the organizer of the GoFundMe, Michael Gray, said Scena was headed home from a funeral on Sunday for a fellow police officer who passed away from cancer when he was struck by another car just minutes from his home, NBC10 Philadelphia reported.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their two young daughters, Riley and Reese.

Nearly $5,000 has already been raised for the family in a GoFundMe campaign which has been certified by the police department.

Scena was also a dedicated member of the Bullet’s Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, which organized fundraisers and memorial rides for law enforcement members who had died.

Scena was born in Abington Township and raised in Elkins Park, the police department said. He graduated from Cheltenham High School and the Montgomery County Community College.
