"Thanks to the efforts of the hard-working food service staff," Bedden said. "We are grateful for our food service staff."
At the school board's recent meeting, Bedden told the school board that the district's food service was "down a number of workers" and had some employment opportunities.

School officials said that a free breakfast program offered to all students in Pennsylvania starting Oct. 1 could also have an impact and further bolster the district's figures.
The district's food service staff encourages all students to take advantage of the free meals offered daily.
Last school year, breakfast and lunch were provided under the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) funded by the federal and state governments. The SSO program allowed students to eat breakfast and lunch for free under child nutrition guidelines, the superintendent said.
