WARMINSTER, PA —The empty property of the former Perkins Restaurant and Baker might not stay vacant for that long.

After being listed for sale, the property at 705 York Rd. has been sold after recently going on the market, Township Zoning Officer Mike Italia told Patch.

The longtime restaurant recently closed after 40 years of serving the Warminster area. But what will fill the gap is unknown.

Italia hinted that it could be another restaurant, but said that "it's anyone's guess."

Melissa Lippe of J.C. Bar —with offices in York and West Conshohocken —had listed the 5,547-square-foot property which sits on 1.36 acres as available for sale.

The agency had said the property is perfect for a restaurant or a redevelopment opportunity.

The agency touted the building location as well-situated in Warminster with great visibility on York Road, and just off Street Road. It has easy access for residents of surrounding areas in Warrington, Horsham, Hatboro, Jamison, Northampton Township, and the Southamptons.

Perkins closed abruptly one day late last month after breakfast was served.

A sign on the door stated that the township mainstay —which first opened in 1983 —was "permanently closed" and directed customers to the Perkins at 1681 Grant Ave. in Philadelphia, which is operated by the same Warminster Perkins owners.
