PHILADELPHIA, PA —Scott Palmer knows a thing or two about the Philadelphia Phillies.
As a long-time sports anchor on Action News 6 in Philadelphia to his tenure as with the team in various roles, Palmer has watched the team change throughout the generations. And this 2022 version is something special.
“It’s a great time to be a Phillies fan,” said Palmer, a Phillies team ambassador who accompanied the team to Houston during its World Series against the Houston Astros. “We saw the downturns. Then they catch fire at the end. It’s tremendous.”

In 2016, Palmer was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, which honors the lifetime sports contributions of Pennsylvanians. He was also a board member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia.
Prior to joining the Phillies in 2005, Palmer was an anchor and sportscaster at WPVI-6ABC in Philadelphia for over 24 years.
Palmer has felt that this World Series was a great matchup.
He praised Houston as being a “darn good club” that can hit, has great pitching and was basically “lights out” during the playoffs.
Palmer believes the players the team brought in at the trading deadline really helped push the Phillies into the playoffs. He liked that the younger players were also accepted by the veterans. And Palmer said Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper have carried the team on their backs, not just with their home runs but also their leadership in the locker room.
He really loves his current job, getting to meet with fans on all kinds of adventures.
“I do a lot of fan visits,” he said. “I’m the official pep rally host for the block party. Their excitement makes me more excited seeing it through the fans’ eyes. We have a lot of special fans. We have to thank them.”
