WARMINSTER, PA —A township resident is campaigning for secure parking for bicyclists who he believes are now a growing part of the population.

Austin Ryan is asking people to support the Warminster Bike Parking Initiative. Ryan has launched a GoFundMe page with a $3,000 goal.

"As many of you know, Warminster is home to a growing number of cyclists—children, older adults, and those without cars—who rely on bikes to get around. However, our town currently lacks sufficient secure bike parking, making it difficult for many to do daily tasks like shopping, commuting, or running errands," Ryan said.

"By increasing bike parking infrastructure, we can create induced demand —encouraging more people to choose cycling over driving. This shift helps reduce car traffic congestion, making our roads safer and more efficient for everyone," Ryan said.

Ryan is raising funds to install bike racks around the township to make cycling more accessible.

The initiative will improve our community’s infrastructure and promote biking as a healthy option to get around.

Ryan said the donation will help fund:

  • Additional bike racks at public parks, shopping areas, community centers, etc.
  • Secure, lockable bicycle parking to prevent theft and damage.
  • Advocacy efforts to encourage local businesses and government to support bike-friendly policies.
  • Reduce car traffic by getting more people on bike saddles and off the main roadways.

"Whether you’re an avid cyclist, a supporter of sustainable transportation, or someone who just wants to see a more connected and accessible Warminster, we need your help to make this vision a reality. Every donation brings us one step closer to a more bike-friendly community," Ryan said.
