WARMINSTER, PA —Warminster Library's summer reading program is well underway.

Having launched last week, the library introduced a theme for the program this year called "All Together Now," in which everyone is encouraged to explore together as a community through activities, programs, and all kinds of books, library director Peter Lehu said.

On Friday, the inside of the library becomes a battlefield as teenagers entering grades 7-12 are invited to come after the library closes for structured Nerf games. Registration is required.

There will be special events throughout the summer featuring favorite local presenters, including Talewise, and Andrew’s Big Show, in addition to an expanded program of regular events.

For the Pre-K set, there will be three story times each week, special story times to accompany a traveling StoryWalk at various Warminster community parks, and a weekly music and motion class with professional music educator Ms. Nancy.

School-aged children can choose from a Lego club, an art club, and a 90-second Newbery Club,
where children will get a chance to act out scenes and create props to make a 90-second movie
version of Newbery Award nominee book, "The War That Saved My Life" by Kimberly Brubaker
Bradley.

At 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 12, the library will be visited by the Doodlery Art Bus, which was slated to kick off the summer reading program on June 22 but had to be rescheduled.

The Doodlery Art Bus is a traveling art education program that invites motivated parents, kids, and teachers to engage in diversity and inclusion-focused art projects. Children of all ages
are invited to paint the bus outside of the library.

There will also be a face painter, ice pops, and lawn games available. Library staff will be outside to hand out summer reading logs and activity packets. No registration is required.

And, yes, there is summer reading for adults, who can submit book reviews for a chance to win gift cards. Click here to learn more about the library's activities.
