HATBORO, PA —The Borough of Hatboro has extended a temporary burn ban, effective on Wednesday.

The ban will last until Nov. 30 (or until lifted), authorities said.

Authorities said the temporary ban prohibits open fires, including recreational fire pits and fireworks.

The ban is due to the extended period of dry conditions impacting the borough, Montgomery County, and the Philadelphia region.

Authorities said the ban is in effect to eliminate the potential for uncontrollable fire spread and wildfires.

The Enterprise Fire Company has battled several brush fires over the past week.

"The Borough of Hatboro is committed to the safety of our community," authorities said.
