WARMINSTER, PA —Every month during the Warminster Township Supervisors Meeting, Finance Director John Ramey provides officials with an update on where government spending stands.

For more than a year, each monthly presentation Ramey provides to supervisors shows that the township is "in the black," a far cry from when officials worried that Warminster might go belly up.

But at the supervisors' meeting earlier this month, Ramey shared some even more robust financial news than normal —that revenues were up by $975,000 for August as opposed to the same time the previous year.

Ramey said that Tesla has something to do with driving the township's revenues. Bucks County's first Tesla dealership is under construction off Street Road.

Ramey said that building permits —like one granted to Tesla —are up more than $1 million above the same period last year.

"It's Christ Home and Tesla," Ramey said. "As we get into budget season, this is awesome to have."

Ramey said that overall, the township has an additional $30,000 in revenue, money he said could be put toward more capital projects.

"We need to keep up the progress," he said. "We have to keep the ball rolling."

Ramey will provide a budget presentation to supervisors next month.

Supervisors Chairman Kenneth Hayes said that with the 2019 budget, the township was looking at a $2.5 million deficit.

"Right now, we have a decent amount of surplus," Hayes said.

The Tesla dealership and repair garage service center could add 30-40 local jobs.

The Tesla dealership would be the first in Bucks County. Tesla has dealerships in King of Prussia, Devon, and Lawrence, N.J.

The project's cost is estimated between $6-8 million.

The 56,000-square-foot building sits on 9 acres across the street from Archbishop Wood High School and near Street Road. It had been considered by Lidl for another grocery store.
