Warminster Man Robbed IHOP, Put Employees In Freezer: Cops

Police have charged a Warminster man with robbing a Bucks County IHOP and putting the employees in a walk-in freezer.

WARRINGTON, PA — Police have charged a Warminster man in connection with an armed robbery at a Bucks County IHOP, in which the employees were robbed of their belongings and trapped in a walk-in freezer.

Jermayne Smith, 36, was arrested after an "extensive investigation," Warrington Police announced Tuesday. He is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the May 20, 2017 armed robbery of the restaurant on Easton Road in Warrington.

According to information provided by police at the time of the robbery, the robbery happened around 12:30 a.m.

The restaurant was about to close when two men armed with guns came in and confronted employees, police said. No patrons were in the store at the time and no employees were harmed, authorities confirmed.

The thieves stole the employee's belongings, as well as cash from the business.

Smith is charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, simple assault, and false imprisonment.

In addition to Smith's arrest, authorities announced Stephen Anthony Thomas has been charged with his alleged role in the crime. Police said he is charged with hindering apprehension.
