Warminster Man Stabbed Girlfriend After Standoff: Police
Police charged the 36-year-old on Tuesday, saying he held the woman hostage and stabbed her in the chest several times as police approached.

WARMINSTER, PA — A Warminster man has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide after police say he held his girlfriend hostage inside a bathroom, then stabbed her in the chest several times at the end of a standoff.
John Casey Peltonen, 36, of Newtown Road, was charged Tuesday with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other crimes in the Oct. 30 stabbing at his home.
According to Warminster Township Police, officers were called shortly after 2 a.m. to a report of a domestic fight involving a man with a knife. When they got there, they found that a man later identified as Peltonen had dragged the woman into a bathroom and was holding her there against her will, police said.

Officers were able to take the knife from Peltonen and he was taken to Doylestown Hospital for a mental evaluation and medical treatment, according to police. On Tuesday, he was officially arrested and charged. He was arraigned and is being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $1 million bail.
