WARMINSTER, PA — Government officials in Warminster have now officially begun considering whether to sell the township's water and sewer services to a private company.

At their meeting on Thursday evening, the Board of Supervisors voted to authorize staff to begin negotiations to sell the systems.

"Before making a final decision, there is still a lot of due diligence and discussions to be had with prospective buyers," township Manager Gregg Schuster said in a letter to residents.

Schuster said public information sessions will be set up soon to allow township residents to coma ask officials about the process and the finances that led to the situation.

The manager said last week that township staff analyzed Warminster's finances and has received multiple offers to take over the water and sewer systems. He said any deal the township approves would guarantee a clean water supply for residents and help keep local taxes manageable.
