4th Annual Shop with a Cop Spreads Holiday Cheer
Warrington Township Police Department held its fourth annual “Shop with a Cop” event on December 7 at the Warrington Walmart. 20 officers were on hand to shop with 25 elementary school-aged children who live in Warrington Township. The officers helped the children select and purchase holiday gifts for their family members and something special for themselves.
Warrington Police Department worked with the elementary schools in the township to identify families in need and the department received a $4,000 grant from Walmart to help pay for the gifts. In addition to the volunteers from the police department, the entire staff of District Justice Jean Seaman’s office volunteered to help the wrap the gifts for the children. Lizzi Custom Graphics volunteered to create a short video about the event.
Chief Daniel Friel remarked, “We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Warrington Walmart for being so willing to work with us on this year’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ event.” Chief Friel added, “I also want to personally acknowledge all of the Warrington Township Police Officers who volunteered during their time off to participate in this extremely worthwhile activity. All of the volunteers helped to make this year’s “Shop with a Cop” a big success for township families in need.”
