William Tennent High School Students Studying And Biking
The Centennial School District obtained two FlexiSpot Workstation Bikes through a grant for the high school library.

WARMINSTER, PA —If you're going to study, why not exercise as well? A grant from the Centennial Education Foundation allows for just that.
The William Tennent High School Library recently added two machines to offer students the ability to move while moving forward in their studies, school officials said.
Students can change resistance, monitor the distance they've pedaled and see how many calories they've burned. For students who need to move, the bikes can be beneficial in assisting with focus, school officials said.

"I appreciate the commitment from our high school library staff for their commitment to both the physical and mental health of our students by requesting FitDesk/Bike Desk funding from our school district foundation," Schools Superintendent Dana Bedden told Patch Thursday. "I, along with our CSD staff, am continually thankful for the efforts of the Centennial Education Foundation to raise funds to support our students and staff. This effort by our Centennial Education Foundation is providing students the opportunity to not only work their minds but also their body which supports our efforts toward the well-being of the whole student."

Mini THON is based on THON, a movement that started at Penn State. THON is the world’s largest student-run philanthropy and is committed to providing emotional and financial support, spreading awareness, and ensuring funding for critical research - all in pursuit of a cure. It is currently the largest student-run philanthropy in the world! Their slogan is, “For the Kids.”
The Klinger student council held a three-hour mini-THON. Students gathered pledges, then came together to participate in an event that included dancing, games, and other fun activities which required them to remain standing throughout the event.
Klinger Middle School’s THON raised $8,217.04, the largest ever for such an event, school officials said.
