Homes real estate sales in the Main Line up 6.2 percent in first six months of 2015

Homes sales in the Chester County increased with 3,037 homes sold in the first six months of 2015, up 10.7 percent from 2,743 homes sold in the first half of 2014. Median home prices increased 1.3 percent to $305,000 in the first half of 2015, compared to the median sale price of the first half of 2014, which stood at $301,000.

The average number of days a home remained on the market stayed the same at 70 days in the first half of 2014 and 2015.

West Chester Borough

Property sales in West Chester during the first half of 2015 decreased 9.9 percent from previous year.

According to a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach HomExpert Market Report, there were 64 properties that closed in the first six months of 2015, compared with 71 from the year before. In 2012 that number was 68.

The median price of the properties that sold in the first half increased 6.4 percent over the same period in 2014, from $335,150 to $315,000. In 2013, the median price was $294,863. The average days on the market decreased by 6.4 percent from 50 to 52 days between 2014 and 2015.
