Chester County Family Donates $184K For New Ambulance

The family of Oscar Lasko, a lifelong local resident and businessman, made the generous donation in his honor.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A local family has made a huge donation to bring a new ambulance to the area.

The Lasko family made a $184,000 donation to the Good Fellowship Ambulance and EMS Training Institute, which will allow them to purchase the new vehicle.

The donation was made in honor of Oskar Lasko, a local businessman, lifelong West Chester resident, and beloved member of the community who died at the age of 96 last April.

"Oscar Lasko and the Lasko family never hesitated to give back and support the causes that mean so much to the health and well-being of so many in our community," State Sen. Andy Dinniman said in a statement. "That legacy is alive and well today as we dedicate a new ambulance to provide faster and better emergency response and save lives throughout the area."

The ambulance is also fitted with a plaque that reads: “This ambulance is dedicated in memory of Oscar Lasko. For his lifetime commitment of improving our community through his generosity. Time will never erase the work he has accomplished and the lives he has positively impacted.”

Lasko's wife, Vivian Lasko, turned the ignition on the new ambulance at the ceremony, marking its entrance into service.
