Chester County student wins DCAD costume competition

First-year illustration major tops annual Delaware College of Art and Design contest

WILMINGTON, DEL. – West Grove, Pa., resident Jacqui Moulder has been selected as the individual winner of the Delaware College of Art and Design’s annual Spirit Week Costume Parade competition.

The first-year student, who is studying illustration at DCAD, created and wore a “Skull Kid” costume in the event. “Skull Kid” is character is from the “Legend of Zelda” game “Majora’s Mask.” She also did her own makeup, using mostly eyeliner to complete the elaborate design on her face.

Moulder makes multiple costumes for family and friends every Halloween. This year, she crafted a total of nine. This included an outfit that depicted the dragon "Smaug" from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel "The Hobbit."

Moulder is a 2016 graduate of Avon Grove High School. She is the daughter of Eric and Camela Martin Moulder.
